Zanzibar
The Zanzibar Managed Service is the UK public sector eProcurement
solution. It is available under a framework agreement to all English,
Wales and Northern Irish public sector organisations. Zanzibar is a
web-based purchase to pay (P2P) and electronic marketplace solution, It
provides a common hosted platform for ePurchasing and eInvoicing.
- Strategic - Zanzibar is the strategic electronic marketplace solution for UK government and will remain so for the period of the framework (5 years+). Developed for government by the OGC, which explains the public sector orientated technical and commercial features (for example - security accreditation, eGIF compliance, no charge to suppliers). As a strategic solution Zanzibar is a key enabler/aligned with major UK Gov strategic objectives - Transforming Government Procurement and CSR07.
- Functionality - The Zanzibar Managed Service offers a complete web-based end-to-end suite of solutions for complete eProcurement. While other providers will provide eCataloues eCatalogues they will not provide full eInvoicing with all of your suppliers. Even when they do, this eInvoicing is usually provided at an additional charge per invoice. The technology provided in Zanzibar is constantly upgraded throughout the life of the subscription. New eProcurement and electronic trading technology developments are provided at no additional cost to subscribers.
- Content and Collaboration - Unlike other providers, Zanzibar hosts and makes available all the OGCbuying.solutions framework contracts electronically to subscribers including all other pan-public contracts/content from DWP, Schools and others. NHS PASA contracts are also available.
- Framework Agreement - Zanzibar is available from a pre-let OGCbuying.solutions Framework. As such public sector organisations do not need to complete a competitive tender process before joining Zanzibar, thereby saving time and money.
- Suppliers - Suppliers on Zanzibar are sponsored by public sector organisations; there are no charges for suppliers to join or transact or for catalogue management on Zanzibar.
- Stability and Security - Zanzibar is backed by HM Treasury and managed by ProcServe. Zanzibar also has the highest security of any electronic marketplace available today and is audited up to Government Level 3. Zanzibar has an official ‘stamp of approval’ as a secure government trading network unlike any other provider.
